  • UH Researcher Wins $1.5 Million Federal Solar Energy Award

    A University of Houston researcher is trying a novel approach to create high efficiency, low cost solar cells in an effort to bring the cost down to that of traditional electricity sources.

    The University of Houston has invited noted sociolgist Jennifer Glass to deliver the John P. McGovern Endowed Lecture in Family, Health, and Human Values at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, October 30, in the UH University Center Theater.

  • College of Social Work, Collaborators Work for Accurate Count of Homeless Youth

    The official count of homeless youth in Houston is listed between 268 and 3,000. An effort partnering the Graduate College of Social Work, The University of Texas School of Nursing and the UH-Downtown will use innovative counting methods to secure an accurate count of homeless youth to better address their challenges.

  • UH Mitchell Center's 'Afoot!' Steps into East End Street Fest

    The University of Houston’s Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts is delivering music and movement to Houston’s historical community. The performance “Afoot!” combines the talents of choreographers and three popular city marching bands – UH’s Spirit of Houston, Milby High School’s Marching Thunder, Austin High School’s Sonic Boom.

  • University of Houston Receives IEEE Milestone Award

    The University of Houston will be recognized Nov. 17 by IEEE as the site of the discovery by physicist Paul Chu and colleagues of a material that made high temperature superconductivity practical for real-world applications.
