This project focuses on developing a soft exosuit to aid pediatric patients affected by cerebral palsy. The Cullen College of Engineering and the Hines College of Architecture and Design industrial design program joined together to undertake the project within the framework of a graduate studio program. Drawing on expertise from both colleges, particularly the Brain Machine Interfacing Lab, led by Dr. Jose L. Contreras-Vidal and funded by the National Science Foundation, students and professors collaborated to conceptualize and prototype an innovative solution. Their collective efforts aim to empower children affected by cerebral palsy, fostering a sense of independence through the development of advanced assistive technologies.
