Back in 1972, a husband and wife came from South Korea to the University of Houston, both to pursue their Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering, and were 'matched' with a Shell Oil Company chemical engineer and his wife. They have been in contact with each other for over 40 years. Most recently, in 2014 the Korean couple visited their Houston family in Katy, TX, and in 2016 the Houston couple visited their Korean student friends in Busan, South Korea.
