  • Teaching Students to Stay Healthy

We offer programs and services that address the mind, body, and spirit. Our students have many fitness and athletic options to explore and have access to excellent healthcare services.

  • Leading Students to Get Involved

We help students get involved on campus to better develop leadership skills, character, and discipline. We create global citizens who are ready to contribute to the world.

  • Providing Ways to Get Support

We provide opportunities for students to achieve their goals by offering services that complement their academic experiences. We support students' general needs that, when met, provide a foundation for academic and personal success.

  • Encouraging Students to Live On Campus

Living in a residence hall provides access to many services and resources, as well as the support to focus on academics and the experience of being a part of a diverse community.

  • The Division of Student Affairs (DSA) Celebrates Careers in Student Affairs Month (CSAM) 2023

This past October the Division of Student Affairs (DSA) held a month-long celebration in honor of the annual Careers in Student Affairs Month (CSAM). To close out the celebration, the DSA hosted A Talk in Student Affairs, a presentation featuring keynote speaker Interim Vice Chancellor/Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Daniel Maxwell. Dr. Maxwell gave a personable and enlightening presentation on the nature of student affairs as well as his own journey in the division.

  • The 2023 State of the Division and In-Service

This year’s State of the Division (SOD) took place on November 2nd, 2023, and began with a warm welcome from Dr. Thompson and an introduction of our keynote speaker, Dr. Daniel Maxwell, interim vice president of student affairs. The theme of the SOD presentation was based on “The Past, The Present, and The Future” of the Division of Student Affairs (DSA).

  • Celebrating Success: University of Houston's First-Generation Week 2023

The University of Houston (UH) recently took a momentous stride in acknowledging and celebrating the achievements of its First Generation (FG) College Students during the First-Generation Week, held from November 6th to November 11th, 2023. This week-long event aimed to recognize the significant contributions of FG students, who constitute an impressive 45% of the university's enrolled student body.

  • Carlos Rodriguez, Sales and Event Manager at the Student Centers has been awarded the Golden Paw Employee of the Month Award for November 2023

Carlos was nominated by the Director for the Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life (CFSL), Ja’Nelle King, after she was impressed with his willingness to assist her with events and his openness to help even after work hours. In his normal duties, Carlos oversees the room reservations and assists with room requests and event planning at the Student Centers. However, in Ja’Nelle’s experience with Carlos, he went above and beyond those duties to ensure that the CFSL events ran smoothly.
