Greetings From President Khator

Welcome to the University of Houston, where our students acquire the abilities and intellect that an increasingly global environment demands. Their success is our success, and nothing takes greater priority. As a Tier One public research institution and one of the country’s most vibrant and ethnically diverse universities, UH prepares the skilled workforce, accomplished leaders and innovative problem-solvers that are now essential for an enlightened and engaged community. Our University – Houston’s University – takes pride in its deep local roots and celebrates its transformation into a nationally competitive institution where energy, health care and the arts flourish and support our city’s reliance on those key enterprises.

  • George Floyd’s Death

The sad and senseless death of George Floyd hits close to home for the University of Houston. Mr. Floyd was a member of our community, and we join hundreds of other universities and millions of Americans in condemning this brutal event and the larger failing in our culture that allows such atrocities to continue. We share in the tremendous pain our community and nation are experiencing. Please read President Renu Khator's letter to our UH community for more information.

  • Faculty & Staff COVID-19 Update

Now that the efforts to reopen the state and the city have begun and we have successfully completed this very challenging semester, it is time to look beyond the immediate horizon.  Since this pandemic will continue to challenge us until a vaccine is found, we must address questions like the safe reopening of the campus, the long-term financial health of the University, and life in the new normal.
