TTOR Safe Drug Disposal Distribution Locations

The Safe Drug Disposal and Community Awareness (SDD/CA) Project of the Texas Targeted Opioid Response (TTOR) program’s purpose is to improve the lives of Texans by preventing the non-medical use of prescription medications through increased access to safe disposal methods, assessment of health care provider practices relating to disposal methods, and providing prevention education to high-risk individuals in Texas. Texas Targeted Opioid Response (TTOR) is funded through a grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Since 2018, the PREMIER Center team has worked with local community prevention groups, hospitals, physicians’ offices, pharmacies, as well as fire, police, and emergency responders to distribute Single-Use Disposal Systems to allow the safe disposal of medications from home.

There are two types of at-home disposal options that the PREMIER Center provides: deactivation pouches and mail-back envelopes. The deactivation pouches are an at-home, single-use disposal option. The mail-back envelopes allow individuals to place their unused medications into the pre-paid envelope and mail them back to a treatment location for incineration.

To find a local SUDS distribution location where you can pick up disposal materials at no cost to you, please see the map below. *These locations were provided disposal materials. Stock of disposal materials may vary by location.
