Humana Institute of the University of Houston Names New Director- Dr. Omolola E. Adepoju

Omolola E. Adepoju, Ph.D., M.P.H.

Omolola E. Adepoju, Ph.D., M.P.H., health services researcher and clinical associate professor at the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine will be assuming the role of Director for the Humana Integrated Health System Sciences Institute.

She will be building on the pioneering work of LeChauncy D. Woodard, M.D., M.P.H., founding director of the Humana Integrated Health System Sciences Institute.

Adepoju brings with her a wealth of experience and a track record of excellence in the investigation of non-medical determinants of health risk factors, health informatics, and value-based care. Since joining the University of Houston, her work has been featured in numerous media outlets, attracted prestigious grant funding, and has been recognized at the college, university, and national levels. 

She earned a Bachelor of Science in physiotherapy from the University of Lagos, a master’s degree in public health from Emory University and a doctorate in health services research from Texas A&M University. Adepoju was a postdoctoral scholar at the Texas A&M Clinical Science and Translational Research Institute, which included work at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center’s Center for Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness and Safety in Houston.
