Tameka A. Clemons, Ph.D., is a clinical associate professor of biochemistry in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine. Clemons has taught for more than 15 years with teaching experience at the high school level, college level, and medical school level, including Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine and Meharry Medical College, where she course-directed biomedical science courses.

Clemons is an active member of the International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE) and a participant in several NIH-funded fellowships such as PRIDE, Diversifying CNS, and BRAINS.

Clemons’ research expertise includes cell signaling with a focus on the link between Alzheimer’s disease and Type 2 diabetes. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Xavier University of Louisiana and her Ph.D. in biochemistry from Meharry Medical College.
