Launch Pad to Success:

Welcome to UH! The first six weeks of college are your launch window, an opportunity to build momentum, make connections, and explore everything campus has to offer. Launch Pad to Success isn’t a program you sign up for, it’s a choose-your-own-adventure designed to help you take charge of your college experience, one week at a time.

Each week, you’ll get a new mission from Peer Assistant Leaders (PALs). These are quick, meaningful actions you can take on your own. Whether it’s finding your study spot, joining a student org, or checking out a wellness event, every mission helps you build your own path to success.

First Six Weeks. One Mission.

Week One: Get Grounded

Find your classes and a parking spot. The UH Go App tracks, in real-time, shuttles along routes and counts of available parking spaces by Zone.
Take a look at the syllabi for your classes. Write down important deadlines for the semester in your calendar/planner.

Week Two: Find Your People

Join a student org through Get Involved
Join a DEN
Say hi to someone in your class or residence hall

Week Three: Lock in Your Support Team

Visit LAUNCH Tutoring or sign up for a Writing Center appointment
Go to a professor’s office hours
You know, your PAL is pretty cool.
Find a study group and favorite study spot.

Week Four: Take Care of You

Attend a Wellness Wednesday
Check out Campus Recreation
Explore CAPS for mental health support

Week Five: Explore and Expand

Visit Career Services and complete their Worksheet to explore interests, majors, and career options.
Attend an on-campus event
Volunteer through Center for Community Engagement

Week Six: Reflect and Refocus

Meet with your academic advisor
Visit with your PAL and set goals for the semester
Celebrate your wins—big or small!
