UHCOP Welcomes Stephanie King as New Director of Advancement

UH College of Pharmacy recently welcomed Stephanie King, CFRE, GPC, as the college’s Director of Advancement. King brings a decade of development experience to her UHCOP role, including most recently as Assistant Director, Foundation Relations, in the UH Corporate & Foundation Relations.

Prior to joining the university in 2014, King served as the inaugural Executive Director for CASA of Galveston County, Director of Development at a hunger/homelessness prevention agency, Development Specialist at a domestic violence center, and Grant Writer/Program Facilitator at a parenting education nonprofit. Her experience as a small business owner, community newspaper editor and Houston Chronicle correspondent helped equip her for success in development.

King is a proud Forever Coog and native Houstonian. She took a ‘brief’ hiatus from college, returned at UH and finished her B.A. in Psychology and Print Journalism in 2009. She will graduate from the UH Graduate College of Social Work in May 2019. Her Master of Social Work concentration is Macro Practice, focusing on organizational/community advocacy, leadership and growth. She looks forward to applying the program’s strengths and solutions mindset to her UHCOP endeavors.

A Houston Zoo volunteer and a six-year mentor in the K-12 Leaders Make Readers program, King recently began her first board term at The Women’s Resource Center of Houston. Stephanie has a 22-year-old son named Mitch.
