Pharm.D. Student Ally Thrall Earns Scholarship from National Kappa Psi Foundation

UH Pharm.D. student Allyson (Ally) Thrall was honored as one of only 10 pharmacy students nationwide to receive a scholarship from the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Foundation, which provides educational, leadership, financial assistance, and other charitable functions for the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity.

In her KY role, Thrall was responsible for planning and organizing the campus fraternity's annual formal dinner and dance for her student and alumni "brothers" and "Rush Week" activiites for new pledges. The Delta Delta chapter was founded in 1963, which makes it one of the oldest student organizations affiliated with UH College of Pharmacy.

"She has truly earned my respect, the respect of her peers, and the respect of the faculty and staff of the college," said Louis Williams, Ph.D., associate professor and chapter advisor (known as "Grand Council Deputy").

Thrall was equally appreciative of the support from Williams, who also was one of 10 recipients nationwide to receive the 2014 Grand Council Deputy Certificate of Excellence.

"Dr. Williams has been a rock for our Kappa Psi chapter and I am so thankful to have him in my life," Thrall said. "Besides winning this scholarship, Kappa Psi has given me more than I could have asked for and I am so proud to be part of such an incredible brotherhood."
