CPL's Lie Detection Research part of Weird Connections on Science Channnel


The Science Channel aired an episode on lie detection technology last
Saturday. It features research by the Computational Physiology Lab (CPL)
here in our department, the Communications Lab at SUNY Buffalo, and the
Machine Learning Lab at UCSD. We have shown a preview of the episode a
couple of months ago on the 2nd floor theater. Saturday was national release
day. It is rare for a UH lab to have unsolicited national coverage in a
major channel. The episode will also play in the Science Channel in Europe
some time later this year.

As an aside, the filming lasted almost two weeks (2-3 days in each of the
labs) and it boiled down to 30 min. An extraction of the video can be
