Tuition and Fees

The Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine’s cost of attendance includes tuition and fees, and additional expenses including books and supplies, loan fees, room and board, transportation and miscellaneous expenses. Tuition and fees are direct expenses from the College of Medicine and are set annually by the University of Houston System Board of Regents. Additional expenses are incurred by students. Housing is available on the UH campus.

Medical students at Fertitta Family College of Medicine pay the same annual tuition regardless of their year in medical school. First- and fourth-year students’ tuition and fees payment is divided in half, between the fall and spring semester. Second- and third-year students’ tuition and fees payment is divided in thirds, between the fall, spring and summer semesters.

Four-Year Cost of Attendance Estimate

To project your future cost of attendance, download the Four-Year Cost of Attendance Estimate worksheet for residents or non-residents.

Cost of attendance figures are estimates intended to be used as a guideline, assisting students as they create their personal budgets. Students are not permitted to receive financial aid in excess of their cost of attendance and are encouraged to budget carefully and anticipate expenses as they progress through the curriculum. The Cost of Attendance is not meant to indicate the exact amount any individual student will be charged by the University, but rather an estimate of what it will cost the average student to attend the school for a given school year. The Cost of Attendance also includes the cost of the student health insurance plan.
