LGBTQ & Women and Gender Resource Center

The LGBTQ & WGRC offer a physical space for students, faculty, and staff to meet new people, study for class, use a computer, eat lunch, and more! There is a lending library, free personal hygiene supplies, limited free printing, and a lounge space.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

Counseling and Psychological Services provides quality mental health services to the UH campus community and helps clients develop the skills necessary for personal, academic, and social success. Student Services Center Rm. 226 713-743-5454.

CoogsCare

CoogsCare is a resource hub for students seeking emergency assistance, i.e., food or housing insecurity, transportation difficulties, academic struggles.

LGBTQIA Support & Process Group

The LGBTQIA Group provides a supportive, safe, affirming, and confidential place to discuss sexual orientation, coming out, family concerns, community resources and support, and religion and spirituality among other various topics. This group also provides an opportunity to learn more about how to relate to others and explore new options for relating while in an encouraging environment with other students within the LGBTQIA community.

Center for Diversity and Inclusion

The Center for Diversity and Inclusion fosters an inclusive university community by providing services, programs, and support that engage, empower, and educate our highly diverse student population and campus partners. Student Center South, Suite B12

Sexual Violence Prevention Education

Sexual Violence Prevention Education has a list of resources for getting help, staying educated, and reporting procedures around the topic of sexual violence and its prevention.

Psychological Research Service Center

The Psychological Research Service Center is a full-service outpatient psychology clinic that operates within UH's clinical psychology doctoral program. They offer mental health services on a sliding scale.

A.D. Bruce Religion Center

The A.D. Bruce Religion Center is the focal point for many on-campus religious and spiritual activities. It is a bustling center of many ongoing educational programs and activities focusing on religious issues with an emphasis on Interfaith Dialogue. The A.D. Bruce Religion Center offers a place for both quiet meditation and spiritual growth.

Student Organizations

GLOBAL
Global is the LGBTQ and supporters student group at the University of Houston Main Campus. Everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, is welcome to come to meetings and hang out.

Texas Rising
Texas Rising aims to become one of the largest progressive student organizations at The University of Houston. They raise awareness on issues concerning religious liberties, the State Board of Education, defending evolution curriculum, LGBTQ equality, and comprehensive sex ed.

Gamma Rho Lambda (GRL)
Gamma Rho Lambda is a social sorority for cis-women, trans-women, trans-men and non-binary students of any race, culture, or sexual orientation. Gamma Rho Lambda is dedicated to providing a social support system for young college students and fulfilling their goals of tolerance, diversity, achievement, and siblinghood. GRL welcomes all motivated cis-women, trans-women, trans-men, and non-binary students who are looking for a safe space to create change within their community and themselves.

oSTEM
Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (oSTEM) is a national society dedicated to educating and fostering leadership for LGBTQA communities in the STEM fields. This group is organizing a new chapter at UH. They provide social and professional events aimed primarily at LGBTQA students in the STEM fields.

OutLaw
OutLaw creates a welcoming environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQ) students and their allies at the Law Center, and develops informed and open-minded future lawyers by sponsoring informational events on current legal issues affecting the LGBTQ community.

Social Work Q+mmunity
Q+mmunity is a supportive community of graduate students and professionals led by the GCSW dedicated to the advocacy, service, cultural awareness, and scholarship of LGBTQ+ issues, while upholding the core values of the social work profession through education, engagement, and collaboration within and beyond the University of Houston.

Queering Medicine (QMed)
QMed is a student-run social and educational organization in the College of Medicine dedicated to the practice of medicine through the lens of intersectional LGBTQIA+ health justice.
