Your Skype for Business (SFB) sign-in address is always CougarNetID@central.uh.edu.
Sign-in to SFB Using a Computer in the CougarNet Domain
When a person is logged into a computer on CougarNet, upon launch, SFB will use the CougarNet credentials of the person logged into that computer. The sign-in to SFB is automatic as long as you enter the sign-in address as CougarNetID@central.uh.edu.
Sign-in to SFB at Home Using a Computer Not in the CougarNet Domain
- In the Sign-in Address field, enter your CougarNetID@central.uh.edu.
- Click Sign-in.
- In the User Name field that appears, enter CougarNetID@cougarnet.uh.edu.
- In the Password field, enter your CougarNet password.
- Click Sign-in.
Sign-in to SFB As Another Person
To sign-in to SFB as someone other than the person logged into the computer:
Skype for Business - Windows
- In the SFB window, from the File menu, select Change Sign-in Address.
- In the Sign-in Address field that appears, enter your CougarNetID@central.uh.edu.
- Click Ok.
- In the confirmation dialog box, click Ok.
- In the User Name field that appears, enter your CougarNetID@cougarnet.uh.edu.
- In the Password field, enter your CougarNet password.
Skype for Business for Mac
To Sign-in to SFB:
- Type CougarNetID@central.uh.edu in the Sign-in Address field.
- Click Advanced Options.
- Type your CougarNetID@cougarnet.uh.edu in the User Name field.
- Click Save.
- Click Continue.
- Type your CougarNet password in the Password field.
- Click Sign In.
- Click Connect.
What to do When a Windows Security Password Request Appears
For one reason or another, a Windows Security dialog box sometimes appears requesting a password. SFB is unable to connect to your Exchange account to access recent call history or voice mail.
If one of the following dialog boxes appears (shown below):
- Enter the user name as CougarNetID@cougarnet.uh.edu.
- Supply your password.
- Select Save My Password.
- Click Ok.
Sign-in to a CX600 Phone
All CX600 phones require a PIN that must be used to sign-in to the phone. Once signed-in , you never have to sign-out unless you choose to do so. If you forget your PIN or if you were never given a PIN, you can create a new PIN without knowing your current PIN.
To create a Sign-in PIN:
- In an internet browser, go to the Skype Dial-in Conferencing Settings and PIN Management page.
- Click Sign-in and choose a Language.
- Click Sign-in button then enter your CougarNetID as the username and your CougarNet password.
- Following the criteria on the PIN management screen, enter your PIN in the fields provided.
Note: If you forget your PIN, you can reset it using the steps listed above.
To sign-in to a CX600 phone:
- On the CX600 Welcome Screen, press No.
- Enter
your 5 digit extension (not your PIN), press Next. - Enter your PIN, press Sign-in.
- Create a 4 digit Unlock PIN. It can be the same as your sign-in PIN.
- Press Done and you are now signed-in to your phone.
To sign-out of a CX600 phone:
- Press the Menu button.
- Select Switch User.
- Select Yes.
