We understand you were looking for the Center for Diversity and Inclusion or the LGBTQ Resource Center. These two centers have been closed effective August 31, 2023.

There are several programs and support services at the University of Houston and in the Division of Student Affairs that are available to you. The following is not an all-inclusive list, but provides you with direct access to staff, departments, and programs that can assist you:

CoogsCARE is a web-based resource that supports your mental health and overall wellness. In addition to you practicing self-care, we believe in the strength of a community that cares for our fellow Coogs. We have a number of resources to support your mental health and overall wellness. Center for Student Empowerment - The Center for Student Empowerment (CSE) provides opportunities for the university's diverse student population by preventing minor obstacles from becoming major setbacks to degree achievement, and has programs focused on first-generation students, foster care students, and students with insecurities. UH Wellness - UH Wellness supports all your health and well-being needs. They cultivate a community of care to promote and enrich the health and well-being of our students to become successful scholars and engaged global citizens. UH Wellness may be contacted at or 713.743.5430.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) - CAPS promotes the well-being of the diverse campus community by balancing high-quality mental health services and clinical training with accessibility to foster student success through self-discovery, learning, and interpersonal engagement. The Division of Student Affairs’ new Center for Student Advocacy and Community promotes a culture of care, focuses on cultivating a sense of connection, and addresses the needs of all UH students. The center provides an expansion of basic needs services to support all students, as well as provide cultural understanding and the development of community through campus events and programs. The Mission of Center for Student Advocacy and Community is:
