GENESIS’ research directly informs the evidence-based assessment and treatment protocols developed and utilized in the Academic Skills Clinic (ASC). The ASC is one of several specialty clinic foci within the Psychology Research and Services Center, a clinic that provides mental health assessment and services to the greater Houston area. The ASC offers academically-related evaluation and support for individuals from toddlerhood through adulthood. As a multi-disciplinary team, we have expertise in educational, cognitive, developmental, clinical psychology, and neuropsychology, as well as genetics and neurophysiology. We specialize in individuals with complex learning, language and/or behavioral profiles. We are committed to providing services that optimize patients' progress through understanding their unique strengths and weaknesses, supporting their needs, making individualized recommendations for accommodations, and monitoring progress using evidence-based, effective methods.
