Admissions

Prospective Students

Students who wish to apply to the University of Houston's undergraduate psychology degree program should visit the Admissions at the University of Houston web page on uh.edu for the current student admissions information. Students who apply to the University of Houston and are accepted to the Department of Psychology will be admitted as a Pre-Psychology student. Pre-Psychology students will be required to complete several designated pre-requisite psychology courses and meet the GPA requirement of a 2.0 or higher before they can declare a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology.

Academic Advising

Academic Advising is available to all currently enrolled UH students. Prosepctive students that are not currently enrolled at the University of Houston who wish to find out information about the psychology undergradaute program and degree are advised to review the Psychology Department Handbook. Prospective transfer students who wish to find out information on how to transfer from their current institution to the University of Houston may contact a UH Transfer Advisor.

Transfer students who want to determine what courses will transfer to UH will have to wait until the day of their New Student Conference before an advisor can verify what has transfered to UH, regardless of when the student has been admitted. Academic advisors do not determine which courses from your previous institution(s) will be accpeted to UH.

 Mandatory New Student Conference

All students admitted to the University of Houston must attend a New Student Conference (NSC). For more information on the NSC, please visit their web page located HERE. Students who have not attended a New Student Conference should not contact an advisor from the Psychology Department requesting an appointment for advising. Students will be advised on the day of their NSC.
