The GENESIS lab conducts research on human development in diverse and often understudied contexts, integrating multiple approaches, including innovative behavioral assessments, neuroimaging, and molecular genetic analyses. The lab’s overall mission is to capture and characterize the depth and breadth of human development across ages, stages, and domains, taking into account the dynamic relationships between biological and environmental factors. Our goal is thus to adopt and implement systematically and rigorously a comprehensive, multi-modal, theory-guided and evidence-based framework for studying human development on multiple levels. The lab is also focused on the translation of findings into effective and viable treatments and interventions to promote more successful and positive outcomes for all youth growing up in challenging circumstances.
