CMS - The Cascade Content Management System
The UH Web Site uses a Content Management System (CMS) called Cascade CMS, which is maintained by Web Technologies' CMS Team, a part of Technology Services and Support within UIT. UH Marketing and Branding develop the themes, designs, and templates that are used within the Cascade CMS to establish and support a shared look, feel, and functionality for University of Houston websites.
IMPORTANT: As of Friday May 19, 2023, the UH VPN using the full-vpn-uh.edu setting is required if Cascade Users want to log into Cascade from off campus. See the UIT site's VPN information to see how to set things up for your operating system. If you already have UH VPN installed, see notes on switching to the "full" setting.
! IMPORTANT: CASCADE CMS END OF SERVICE.All websites must be migrated out of the Cascade CMS by the end of July 2025. For more information on the already-in-progress migration to the new Content Management System, please first contact your website's point person[s] and then launch your Microsoft Teams application and join the UH/UHS-public Team "CMS MIGRATION 2024-2025".
If you cannot initially see the CMS MIGRATION 2024-2025 Team, you may need to add it manually. Please go to your all-Teams view and click on "Join or create team" then search for "CMS Migration 2024-2025". You should then select that.
If you see a line indicating a "hidden" channel, open that up and you should see the "Content-Site Owners" channel. From there, look under Files area for Migration resources.
For further information on the CMS Migration, please contact your website's point person [likely within your area's Communications department] and/or the Web and Digital Strategy group under Marcom.
