Eligibility for Services

The Student Health Center Fee, which is included in the university's mandatory Student Service Fee, is charged to students each Fall, Spring, and Summer term that they are enrolled in credit hours. This fee is used to subsidize the cost of your patient appointments and helps decrease the cost of other services.

All students enrolled in credit hours at the University of Houston, including UH at Sugar Land and UH at Katy, and residing in the State of Texas are eligible for all in-person and telehealth services during the current term's eligibility for services period.

Eligibility dates are based on the university's general Academic Calendar regular session for the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms, not college-specific dates.

The Summer Service Extension Fee is a  non-refundable  charge to students who are not currently enrolled in a Summer session and choose to use the Student Health Center during the summer. This is an access fee , not health insurance, and allows individuals to use Student Health Center services during the summer through the day before the first class day of the upcoming Fall term if they meet the following eligibility criteria.

This non-refundable fee cannot be prorated or credited, meaning the fee amounts remain the same even if paid after the summer eligibility period begins or scheduled appointments during the summer period are canceled.
