Barbara K. Townsend Emerging Scholar Award

McKinney received the Barbara K. Townsend Emerging Scholar Award from the Council for the Study of Community Colleges (CSCC).  This award recognizes a new scholar for outstanding theoretical and/or applied research that contributes to the professional body of knowledge about community college; demonstrated excellence in teaching, advising and/or mentoring; and, integration of knowledge to teaching and service.  Read more . . .

Assistant Professor Excellence Speaker Series (APeX)

McKinney has also been selected to represent the research and creative activity of rising faculty at the University of Houston during the 2015-2016 Assistant Professor Excellence Speaker Series (APeX).
