Visitor parking in the Welcome Center North Garage is closed while license plate recognition
technology is added for a hands-free experience, new gate equipment is installed,
barriers are adjusted for smoother traffic flow, and updated signage is installed.
Thank you for your patience.
No longer will students park in one garage and faculty-staff in the other, as both
garages are now open to all valid Welcome Center Garage parking permit holders.
Parking and Transportation Services earns the Accredited Parking Organization (APO)
with Distinction designation from the International Parking and Mobility Institute.
Because UH utilizes virtual parking permits, it is important that permit holders park
their vehicle with a scannable license plate facing the drive lane in order to avoid
being issued a parking citation.
Receive a parking citation? To appeal it, there must be substantial and valid evidence
that the violation was not committed or that it occurred due to circumstances beyond
the driver's control.
UH provides parking for use by individuals with disabilities in accordance with the
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). These spaces are available to eligible
students, faculty/staff and visitors.
Be prepared and plan accordingly for when campus parking lots, garages, and roadways
are closed or affected in various ways due to construction projects, as well as campus
events and other activities.
The Cougar Ride After-Hours Shuttle Service is a program that provides rides to and
from all on-campus shuttle stops, as well as MD Anderson Library and Cougar Village/Moody
Towers.
During the fall and spring semesters, the Cougar Line shuttle buses service the campus
community Monday through Friday. The location of every shuttle can be tracked in real-time
in the UH GO app.
Students, faculty and staff who have a bicycle on campus are required to register
it. Registration is quick, easy and free. A registration sticker will be provided
and should be placed on the bicycle.
