Traffic alerts & lot closures

Parking and mobility on and/or near campus will be affected during the following times:

Lot Closures due to Campus Lighting Enhancement Project

Beginning Dec. 18 through Jan 2., parking lots 1C and 1D will not be accessible. During this time, lot 1C and 1D permit holders may park in the Welcome Center Garage, entering the garage from entrance 4.

Welcome Center Garage Bridge Closing for Maintenance

Starting at 5 p.m., Dec. 27 through 9 a.m. Jan. 2, the bridge leading from the Welcome Center Student Garage to the Welcome Center Garage will be closed for maintenance. During this time, all vehicles must be removed from the roof of the Welcome Center Garage and relocated to the Welcome Center Student Garage. Any vehicle not moved, will be relocated to the WCSG at the owners expense. Please note: Relaxed Parking Rules are currently in effect.

TxDOT Traffic Alert

Starting May 22, Spur 5 will have one lane open, running southbound to Old Spanish Trail. The northbound lanes will be closed between Old Spanish Trail and University Boulevard. UH northbound traffic in the area can enter campus from Old Spanish Trail to Martin Luther King Blvd. Please note that this phase of construction is expected to last a minimum of 120 days.

What to Do When Text to Pay Service is Not Working

When parking in any of the orange text to pay/virtual meter visitor parking spaces on campus, if the service is not working, you should use the visitor parking sections of the parking garages instead. If your vehicle remains in the text to pay/virtual meter space and you do not pay because the service is out, then you are at risk of being issued a citation.
