Foundation Experience

Our program offers a 16 semester credit hour foundation. This intensive curriculum is organized around content on the foundation of professional social work, human behavior, policy, practice, and research. A practice skills lab and a foundation field practicum I (200 clock hours) are also required. The integrated foundation focuses on social, economic, and political justice and emphasizes critical thinking skills. Foundation courses are organized around a student cohort learning model.

Face to Face full-time foundation students attend classes on Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm for the Fall only. Face to Face part-time foundation students attend classes on Wednesday and Thursday from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Fall and 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Spring. Full-time students do their first field practicum in Fall while part-time students do field in Spring.
