Sugar Land Parking
In order to park a vehicle at the University of Houston Sugar Land, all students, faculty and staff must have a valid UH parking permit or use the pay-by-phone visitor parking.
All active UH parking permits are permitted to park at UH at Sugar Land, with the exception of the UH at Katy permit, as well as the Monday-Wednesday-Friday and Tuesday-Thursday garage permits. The evening-weekend permit cannot be used until 3 p.m. Monday-Friday (it can be used any time on Saturday/Sunday).
UH Sugar Land Permit
The UH Sugar Land permits are valid at the following locations:
- UH at Sugar Land, any unrestricted space, 24/7
- UH main campus, Zone E, 7 a.m.-10 p.m.
- Any ungated lot at main campus - Monday-Thursday, 3 p.m.-10 p.m. and Friday-Sunday.
- Please note: The UH Sugar Land permit is not to be used for regular daily parking on the main campus.
To be eligible for the UH Sugar Land permit, a UH student must be taking more than 50% of their credit hours for the semester in face-to-face in-person classes on the Sugar Land campus. Students living in an on-campus residential community are not eligible for the Sugar Land permit.
Eligible students should email their class schedule to parking@uh.edu, and Parking and Transportation Services will verify eligibility before making the permit available for purchase.
Information about other UH parking permits can be found online. WCJC students, faculty and staff can find permit information here.
Pay-By-Phone Visitor Parking
Visitor parking can be paid for in any of the unrestricted spaces in Sugar Land through pay by phone. Please follow the instructions on signage posted throughout the lots. The rates are:
- 0-30 minutes: $3
- 31 minutes-1 hour: $5
- 1-2 hours: $7
- 2-3 hours: $10
- 3-4 hours: $14
- 4-24 hours: $18
Other UH System Permits
The University of Houston has a reciprocity agreement with the University of Houston-Clear Lake to honor its parking permits on a temporary basis for business needs. Vehicles must display a current UH-Clear Lake permit and are permitted to park at UH Sugar Land. The reciprocity agreement is intended for business visitations only and not for multiple consecutive uses. For special considerations, please contact Parking and Transportation in advance at parking@uh.edu to discuss. A transfer of employment or classes would necessitate the purchase of a UH parking permit.
Parking Citations
Violators of the University's parking terms and conditions can receive citations. Habitual or flagrant disregard of the rules and regulations is grounds for suspension of campus parking privileges or stronger action by the University. Parking citation appeals must be received by Parking and Transportation Services.
