There has been a large number successes and failures in software development. Through those experiences, the software development community has converged on a set of principles and methods to make software development more predictable, productive, and efficient. I will discuss those methodologies and also share experiences from managing large software projects in the corporate world.

Bio:

Claudette Mital is a Program Director at IBM, where she manages the Software Development and Quality Assurance team for the FlashSystem Storage products. She has been with IBM for 16 years which includes an assignment with Corporate Service Corps in Kenya in 2012.

She enjoys running and traveling. She also volunteers, and she was awarded The President’s Volunteer Service Award in 2013 and 2016. She currently serves as one of the city leaders for AnitaB.org in Houston.

Claudette holds a MBA from The Eller College of Management at The University of Arizona, and a B.S. in Computer Science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
