Cloud services for the Internet of Things

When: Monday, October 3, 2016
Where: PGH 232
Time: 11:00 AM

Speaker: Dr. Dilma Da Silva

Host: Dr. Thamar Solorio

There is a good level of consensus on how to deploy cloud computing services to benefit a variety of workloads, from enterprise and web 2.0 applications to big data analytics and even HPC. This talk argues that in the domain of mobile applications and Internet of Things, cloud services have succeeded in some scenarios, but so far without any consensus on how to leverage cloud technology.

The IoT domain, in particular, may introduce new hurdles on an unprecedented scale, challenging existing approach for resource management and deployment life cycles.
