The field of software development has advanced a lot and new practices have emerged in the last 6 years that aren't accounted for before. When developing software there are some best-practices and principles that should be followed so that every software developer should be able to read and understand the application quite quickly. This talk will focus on the principles that when applied, should be able to minimize maintenance requirements; minimizes costs; promote usability and extensibility; and promote testability and correctness of the application such as Agile, CICD, and GIT.

Bio:

I currently work as a software engineer at IBM, working for the Block Storage(Openstack Cinder) team. I am also the scrum master for my team and one of my main goals has been to help transition the team into agile based development process to deliver quickly. I previously worked as a software engineer for the object storage(Openstack Swift) team. Prior to that, I worked as a software engineer at Cerner. I also worked as a Consultant, Emerging Technologies at Smartbridge. In my free time, I like contributing to opensource projects. One of the projects that I have contributed to is Elgg which is an opensource social networking framework.
