How and why technology is used by the Critical Infrastructure Sectors to protect their assets from terroristic acts and threats. How IT software tools and analytics are used to secure a Chemical plant and provide guidance to the security personnel to make logical decisions to identify a potential threat and limit the threats’ ability to act. Explain defense in depth and how it’s applied to physical security.

Bio:

Born and raised in Austin, Texas and the youngest of 3 boys. Parents were academics at the University of Texas (Dad-Professor of Zoology and Mom-Genetic research). I currently live in La Porte, TX and work as the IT Infrastructure Supervisor at Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem) Baytown Facility. Have worked for Chevron Phillips Chemical for 9 years in IT and in the IT field (Exxon, Waste Management, and Richardson Electronics) for 15 years. Have specialized in Physical Security Systems for CPChem as the SME and designed the Companies security systems for both our Domestic locations and our European facilities (Belgium, Dubai).
