Zuoxiao Lyu

 Pianist Zuoxiao Lyu was born in a musical family in China. After childhood piano studies with his parents, he received advanced training in Shanghai and Hangzhou. In 2011, he won first place in the National Music Theory Examination and second place in the College Admission Entry Examination in the Zhejiang province. 

In 2015, Lyu started his piano studies in America and the United Kingdom. He received his master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with Professor Alexandre Moutouzkine. Lyu has also given several recitals in different countries and cities such as Manhattan, London, Hangzhou and Halle. He was praised as “the pianist with first-class musical sensitivity and excellent technique” by Dr. Kenneth Cooper. After a successful jury in 2016, Lyu was sent to Royal College of Music in London by Manhattan School of Music under the tutelage of Fergus Gordon Thompson.

In 2018, he was invited to give master classes in China. He is one of the judges in the Boya China Piano Competition and the Ninth Asia Youth Piano Competition. Now he is pursuing his Doctor of Music at the Moores School of Music with Nancy Weems through scholarships.
