Jonathan Scofield

Jonathan Scofield joined the faculty of the Moores School of Music’s department of Preparatory and Continuing Studies in 2017 while pursuing his master's degree in piano performance. Scofield is highly active as a teacher and performer, having years of teaching experience and performing regularly in the Houston area. His independent and collaborative research in the area of piano pedagogy has been presented at the Alabama Music Teachers Association and the Texas Music Teachers Association. In addition to his research, Scofield has also adjudicated for the TMTA All-Star Festival as well as local hymn and solo festivals in Birmingham, AL. He was elected president of the Music Teachers National Association collegiate chapter at University of Houston for the 2018-2019 academic year. Recent performances include collaborations with the Texas Music Festival as well as numerous solo and chamber performances at the Moores School of Music. Scofield holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Montevallo.
