Accounts
UIT provides computer accounts to UH faculty, staff, and students enrolled in classes to support instructional, research, and administrative activities. Accounts include:
- Electronic Mail (Email) Accounts
Exchange: Email server used by staff and faculty - CougarNet Accounts
CougarNet: used by student, staff and faculty - Retired Faculty Accounts
Retired faculty will automatically retain their Cougarnet and Email accounts. If not used within the year, it will be automatically closed. To reopen an account, faculty will need to contact their department business office. - Instructional Accounts
ECC_Unix: For Engineering students
Canvas: Web-based course tool - Web Server Accounts
www.uh.edu: UH central web server - Aministrative Business Systems Accounts
myUH (PeopleSoft): administrative uses
Faculty and staff may request sponsored accounts for persons not normally granted access to university computing account resources.
To request a sponsored account, call the UIT Support Center at 713-743-1411. Consultants will assist in determining the appropriate accounts for individual computing needs and creating the accounts.
