The survey will be aggregated into a

with input from leaders in both the oil and gas and renewables sectors.

The index will provide baseline information to help guide industry decisions on a range of issues, including energy transition and sustainability, and potentially contribute to the decision-making of energy related policies, which is essential to the long-term development of the energy industry.

The survey questions focus on various themes such as:

  • Expectations about US and global economic conditions
  • Challenges at both the company and industry level
  • Key drivers of growth; and perceived impact of economic shocks on company performance
  • Market and financial access conditions and forecasts
  • Expectations about energy prices
  • Carbon management practices
  • Factors affecting demand uncertainty
  • Impact of domestic, technological, and geopolitical trends
Executives' perspectives shape the future of the us energy industry. With the release of the UH Energy Transition Index, we aim to provide a timely assessment of the state and future of economic activity in the energy industry.

Deliverables of the UH Energy Transition Index are:

  • Track industry perceptions of energy prices, trends, and production over time
  • Track progress and perceptions of the energy transition
  • Track how these perceptions relate to major economic indicators, such as unemployment, output, prices and inflation
  • Track trends that affect profitability and growth in the energy sector
