Economic impacts of the National Park System

Economic impacts of the National Park System

Environmental conservation can lead to increased economic activity through tourism, but can also have economic costs in industries such as mining or logging. This project uses newly digitized data on the National Park System, the largest national conservation entity in the world, to estimate the impact of the park system on the local economy.
