The 17th Annual Table Talk to be held Feb. 27 at Hilton Americas Hotel

Fundraiser supports studies of women, gender and sexuality, as well as women’s history archives

The 17th Annual Table Talk luncheon benefiting the Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies Program and the Carey C. Shuart Women’s Archive and Research Collection at UH will be held on February 27 at the Hilton Americas Hotel in downtown Houston.

It is the major event hosted by the Friends of Women’s Studies, a guild that supports the academic program and archive through programming and fundraising.

For nearly two decades, Table Talk has invited influential women from the community to dine on a plated lunch while discussing a wide variety of topics with their table companions.  The annual event allows participants to converse, share, and learn from women and men of various cultures, professions, and experiences.

The co-chairs for the 2014 edition of the event are Annette Bracey, a health care consultant, and Sue Payne, chief operating officer of the National Math and Science Initiative.

This year’s Table Talk conversationalists include politicians, media professionals, philanthropists and educators. Some of the conversationalists who will lead Table Talk 2014 are listed below:
