Integrated Communication

Why is integrated communication vital?

Communication is converging. Today, brands must coordinate their marketing, public relations, and advertising efforts in concert with one another, and organizations must hire storytellers who can navigate this shifting industry. Our integrated communication area of study offers a top-level view of the field, allowing students to study public relations, advertising, and marketing concurrently, in the digital world. Our approach takes an impartial view of strategic communication and teaches students the skills needed to implement an entire communication campaign - a much-needed skill for all communication careers.

What our students learn

Our integrated communication students learn the common threads that bind the fields of advertising, public relations and corporate communication – and what distinguishes them from one another. Most importantly, they are taught how to use elements of each of these disciplines to develop a fully integrated communication program.

At the Valenti School of Communication, we provide students with real world experience. Every class for our integrated communication degree plan has an instruction and application aspect. As a result, students apply their classroom learnings in the real world by working with local businesses and individuals.
