Visiting Students
Visiting students are those who have a high school diploma or GED and wish to take specific undergraduate coursework but are not pursuing a degree at the University of Houston. Visiting students are also called “transient student” and are non-degree seeking.
Steps to Apply
- Apply online at applytexas.org. Complete the application for transient students.
- Pay the non-refundable $75 application fee ($90 for international students) with a credit card, debit card, or check.
- Have your most recent official transcript sent to the University of Houston at the address below. A school adminstrator can also email your official transcript to transcripts@uh.edu. For faster service, send your official transcript to us electronically.

Additional Information
Visiting students are not eligible for financial aid.
Once admitted as a visiting student, no application is necessary for enrollment in future term sessions. Enrollment as a degree-seeking student requires a visiting student to complete the Visiting to Degree-Seeking student form, meet admission requirements of the University of Houston (and their intended major) and submit all transcripts from previous colleges or universities attended.
