Field Instructor

Bella Alex, MSW, is CWEP Field Instructor working with CWEP students placed at CPS. She graduated from the Graduate College of Social Work in 1995. For 31 years, she had worked at the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services in the greater Houston area and 12 outlying counties. After retirement, Ms. Alex was a social worker in the Child Protection Team at the Texas Children’s Hospital for over 7 years. Ms. Alex has participated in statewide initiatives working with various CPS Boards and the judicial system and developing skills for interviewing children and adults, family assessment, child placement, and other child welfare curriculum and service building.
