DH@UH (2024) 

A symposium of the digital humanities at University of Houston 

After a one-year hiatus, the DH@UH symposium relaunched in Spring 2024 under the direction of the Digital Humanities Core facility, a partnership between the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Data Science Institute and UH Libraries. The full program for the 2024 DH@UH included:  

  • February 19, 2024: An open forum for UH Libraries staff on the Digital Research Commons and the Digital Humanities Core facility 
  • February 28, 2024: A virtual open forum for UH faculty, staff, and students on the Digital Research Commons and the Digital Humanities Core facility 
  • March 4 and 5, 2024: A campus visit from Dr. Bryan Carter, Director of the Center for Digital Humanities at University of Arizona  
  • Inaugural DH@UH keynote address Tuesday, March 5th at 11AM in the Rockwell Pavilion, M.D. Anderson Library, followed by a reception and conversation with Dr. Carter in the Digital Research Commons
  • March 25, 2024: Inaugural graduate student address and conversation with Darius Johnson (recording)

A virtual symposium of the digital humanities at University of Houston 

April 11-13, 2022, UH Libraries’ Digital Research Commons presented the second annual DH@UH symposium. DH@UH is a joint venture of UH Libraries Digital Research Commons, the US Latino Digital Humanities program at Arte Público Press, the Center for Public History, the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, the College of Technology, and the UH Graduate School. DH@UH: Building Connections (2021) 

A virtual symposium of the digital humanities at University of Houston 

April 19-21, 2021, UH Libraries’ Digital Research Commons announced DH@UH, a series of programs aimed at convening humanists, data scientists, librarians, and digital humanities practitioners at every level at University of Houston. The inaugural program in this series, DH@UH: Building Connections, was a 3-day virtual event that will showcase digital humanities collaborations by research teams across UH, including innovative classroom projects that forge partnerships with public communities and digital projects that reanimate texts and archives by centering voices of marginalized or silenced peoples. DH@UH is a joint venture of UH Libraries’ Digital Research Commons, the US Latino Digital Humanities program at Arte Público Press, the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, the College of Technology, and the UH Graduate School.
