Visitor parking in the Welcome Center North Garage will be closed starting Sunday,
July 6, while work is completed to complete the current toll tag readers with license
plate recognition technology for a hands-free experience, new gate equipment is installed,
barriers are adjusted for smoother traffic flow, and updated signage is installed.
No longer will students park in one garage and faculty-staff in the other, as both
garages are now open to all valid Welcome Center Garage parking permit holders.
Parking and Transportation Services earns the Accredited Parking Organization (APO)
with Distinction designation from the International Parking and Mobility Institute.
Because UH utilizes virtual parking permits, it is important that permit holders park
their vehicle with a scannable license plate facing the drive lane in order to avoid
being issued a parking citation.
Receive a parking citation? To appeal it, there must be substantial and valid evidence
that the violation was not committed or that it occurred due to circumstances beyond
the driver's control.
UH provides parking for use by individuals with disabilities in accordance with the
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). These spaces are available to eligible
students, faculty/staff and visitors.
