The Texas Biennial is a geographically-led, independent survey of contemporary art in Texas.
A series of exhibitions and programming in San Francisco and Houston that examines the shifts in dilated time, ritual, memory-keeping, and community-building in artistic practices in the years 2020-2024.
Join the University of Houston Art History Program for a book talk and signing with Dr. Kenneth Womack, renowned authority on The Beatles and author of the new book, Living the Beatles Legend: The Untold Story of Mal Evans. Working with full access to Mal’s unpublished archives and having conducted hundreds of new interviews, Womack affords readers with a full telling of Mal’s unknown story at the heart of the Beatles’ legend. Lavishly illustrated with unseen photos and ephemera from Mal’s archives, Living the Beatles’ Legend is the missing puzzle piece in the Fab Four’s incredible story.

Overview: Everything’s calling Elliot back to Sherwood, Texas. Four years after the death of his best friend, Elliot returns home to give his statement. Through flashes from the past and connections in the present, Elliot faces the grittiness of his grief and finds hope along the way. Everything Rises is an exploration of queer love, life in a small town, found family, and what people are capable of when fueled by hate.
