International Film Series: Maryam

A co-production of MCL, CLASS/Honors and IGE, this series will present films from around the world presented by professors and followed by an informal discussion.

Maryam, a 50-year-old gallery owner, seeks blessings from her father to marry her boyfriend from Sierra Leone, while at the same time she needs to overcome a conservative racial and religious bureaucracy in Malaysia, which determines her ability to choose a spouse. Presented by Mohan Ambikaipaker.
