John and Margot Cater Incoming Freshman Scholarship

Notification of awards will be sent to your UH email address.  Please make sure your destination email is update in PeopleSoft (MyUH).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Scholarship recipient must be considered an incoming freshman admitted into the University of Houston.
  • Scholarship recipient’s intended major should be Teaching and Learning with a math and/or science related focus OR minor in Education with a STEM major.
  • Preference will be given to recipients in the TeachHouston program.
  • Scholarship recipient may accept other scholarships and grants in conjunction with this scholarship up to the cost of attendance, which includes tuition, fees, books, room and board, transportation, and personal expenses. 
Awards for this scholarship will be determined by the College of Education Scholarship Committee.
