Art Education Professor Sheng Kuan Chung Joins Key Editorial Review Board
Posted February 20, 2017 – University of Houston College of Education Professor Sheng Kuan Chung has been selected for the second time to serve on the editorial board of the peer-reviewed national journal Art Education.
“Being a reviewer gives me more opportunities to review research articles in the field of art education,” said Chung, whose term lasts three years. “I would like to take this opportunity to bring more new and leading art education ideas to the UH art education program.
"Chung has more than 30 years of experience teaching art and art education to students from kindergarten to the graduate level in Taiwan and the United States. He grew up on a farm in southern Taiwan, where he completed a five-year professional art program before studying to become an art teacher. He received his Ph.D. in art education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
In March, Chung plans to travel to New York to meet with the editor of the journal as part of the annual editorial review board meeting. He also plans to meet with art education professors from other top universities around the country.
Art Education is the official academic journal produced by the National Art Education Association, the primary professional membership organization for visual arts educators.
