Confronting Oppression and Committing to Justice

The UH College of Education Faculty Executive Committee, Faculty Development Committee and Research Committee invite you to attend a free virtual event featuring Francisco Rios, a professor of secondary education at the Woodring College of Education at Western Washington University. He will share insights on confronting oppression and committing to justice Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from noon to 1:30 p.m. Rios’ research includes teachers of color, Latinos in education and preservice teacher education with a multicultural focus. He has served as the senior associate editor of Multicultural Perspectives, the journal of the National Association for Multicultural Education. He also served as president of the National Association for Multicultural Education from 2014 to 2016. He is co-author with A Longoria of “Creating a Home in Schools: Sustaining Identities for Black, Indigenous, and Teachers of Color” (Teachers College Press, 2021). Attend via Microsoft Teams.
