Ja’Nelle King named Director for the Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life

The Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services is proud to announce, Ja’Nelle King, as the new Director for the Center of Sorority and Fraternity Life. Ja’Nelle received her Master of Education (M.Ed) from the University of Houston, and her Bachelor of Health Administration (B.H.A) with a minor in Diversity/Ethnic Studies from Texas State University-San Marcos. Not only has she achieved academic greatness, Ja’Nelle has also had over seven years of experience in various student development roles to the position. Ja’Nelle previously served the role as an Activities Coordinator and more recently the Assistant Director, in the Center for Student Involvement at the University of Houston. She was responsible for the oversight, development and vision for the Registered Student Organization Services area, which houses almost 500 student organizations. Ja'Nelle is passionate about authenticity, identity development, and helping students find their place on campus. With this experience, she has the knowledge to serve the Center for Sorority and Fraternity Life to excellence.

“I’m really looking forward to continuing the mission of the department which is ultimately to enhance the fraternity & sorority experience at the University of Houston. My goal is to engage with the staff team as well as the students to find new ways to engage those both in and outside of the FSL community, as well as increase accountability and unity across all councils.”
