2022 Years of Service Recognition
Administration and Finance would like to recognize the amazing accomplishment and loyalty of our employees and their many years of service.








This award is given to an employee(s) from within the Division who have demonstrated a high level of professionalism, enthusiasm, pride, service and performance teamwork in their day-to-day work activities that provide a strong contribution to Service Excellence noted by the following:
Service: Exemplary work is performed by the employee(s) that serves and contributes to a common goal for the welfare of others.
Professionalism: Displays behavior and conduct, aim or qualities that characterize or mark a profession or a professional person.
Integrity & Enthusiasm: Employee is a trusted partner who exhibits a strong sense of excitement of feeling and enthusiasm in their work and with others in their daily role.
Respect & Pride: Recognizes and appreciates the diverse perspectives of every team member and demonstrates inclusiveness and pride of self-respect and that of others.
Innovation & Performance: Execution or accomplishment of work, duties, projects or campaigns in an efficient & effective manner.
Teamwork: Exhibits a collaborative approach with team members and customers both within the Department and across the University.
Award
Each winner receives a plaque and a $1,000 stipend.
Submission Criteria
Nominations must provide specific examples of how the nominee demonstrates excellence in each of the categories listed above. Additionally, each nomination should include two statements of support from other University community members*.
*If the nomination is from outside of the nominee’s unit, one support statement should be from the nominee’s supervisor. If the nomination originates from within the nominee’s unit, the support statements should be from individuals outside the unit.
Description
Recognizes an employee who consistently represents the Division by networking with other Divisions, external organizations, the UH System, Student Government Association, etc., to accomplish strategic or major projects that embrace the Division’s strategic goals.
Award
The winner of this award will receive a plaque and invitation to an executive lunch with Senior Vice President, Raymond Bartlett, and two guests.
Submission Criteria
Nominations must provide specific details of how the individual represents A&F, and description that demonstrates the positive impact of their work on the division or an accomplishment, and how this benefits the Division.
Description
Recognizes an individual (outside the Division of Administration and Finance), company or organization that has demonstrated outstanding support to the division.
Award
The winner of this award will receive a plaque and a gift card for $200 in catering for the winner’s department.
Submission Criteria
Nominations should describe one or more examples of how this individual has supported the Division and created a positive impact on the Division and its strategic goals.
Description
Recognizes a team of employees within the Division who are involved in a program or project that has had a positive impact on the University or a department, and which has assisted the University in growing its national competitiveness, student success, social responsibility/community engagement, or competitive funding.
Award
Team members will receive a plaque and a $500 gift card for a catered celebratory lunch.
Submission Criteria
Program/project must originate from a department in the Division. Nominations should include a description of the program/project which the team developed/implemented, the impact on the University, and how that impact supports one of the foundations of the University’s strategic plan.
Description
Recognizes an employee within the Division who exhibits superior work performance, while exemplifying a positive and cooperative attitude on a day-to-day "behind the scenes" basis without self-promotion or aggrandizement. This person demonstrates a commitment to Service Excellence with a steady, pragmatic approach, which contributes toward the Division’s strategic goals.
Award
The winner receives a plaque and a $500 stipend.
Submission Criteria
Managerial positions are not eligible for this award. Nominations should describe work performance, attitude/demeanor and contributions made to the department.
Description
This award is for an employee within the Division who has implemented or championed a sustainability initiative.
Sustainability Champions are individuals who, by practice and belief, support the ideals of sustainable practice and use a fundamental bottom-line approach to problems and issues, including looking at sustainability through the three-part lens of social, environmental and financial perspectives.
For example, the environmental scope includes, but is not limited to, reducing paper usage and making processes more efficient; creating a department recycling initiative; instituting a Styrofoam-free initiative; becoming involved with a student sustainability group (MVP); and implementing a neighborhood recycling program. Champions will have demonstrated that they support this philosophy in both their words and actions, and are seen as leaders in Campus Sustainability initiatives.
Award
The winner receives a plaque and a $500 stipend.
Submission Criteria
Nominations should provide a detailed description of the sustainability initiative or project that the nominee led (or were a significant participant), and describe the impact of the project
Description
This award is for an individual employee or group of employees (up to 5 members) within the Division that has demonstrated the essence of what being a partner, or “co-producer,” of safety is as illustrated through each of the four foundational principles of the Stay Cougar S.A.F.E. philosophy supporting Safety & Security, Awareness, Friendship & outreach to others, as well as Education and engagement.
Nominations may include a notable team event, ongoing program or individual effort.
Co-producers have demonstrated that they support this philosophy in both their words and actions and are seen as leaders by being an example for others to aspire to follow as well.
Award
The winner(s) will receive a recognition plaque and a $500 stipend.
Submission Criteria
Managerial positions are not eligible for this award. Nominations should provide examples of how the individual supports the SAFE philosophy, and how those efforts helped to improve safety.
