Daily Update

An Important Annoucement from UH

We have seen over the past few days that there is great value in coming together as a community in a spirit of mutual support. Hundreds of Cougars helped distribute emergency supplies at various PODs on Tuesday, and our volunteer efforts are making a difference in our community.

We will continue our focus this week on slowly restoring our campus to full operation. Thousands of students came back to campus and found a welcoming environment with hot food, cold drinks and refreshing showers. The camaraderie of friends was a great comfort for many of us.

Your personal safety remains our top priority and we ask that you return to campus only when you feel you can. Availability of gasoline remains a real concern, and we recognize that many of you may have transportation and personal issues that make it difficult for you to be here.

Rest assured that we will be flexible and compassionate in support of those with difficult situations. We certainly have no expectation that we have returned to "business as usual," particularly in times of stress when so many of us are operating under constraints beyond our control. Stay safe. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones. Let us know if we can help you. Together, we will restore our homes and revive our community.
