Education

While at the University of Houston, Mark Lacy studied social, ethical and legal issues in photography with masters in the field, such as journalist Fred Baldwin and fine arts photographer George Krause. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a minor in Journalism.

In his studio concentration, he studied conceptual visual images with Suzanne Bloom and Ed Hill. Lacy additionally studied video, documentary series and architectural photography. While working for the Cullen College of Engineering, he became proficient in using specialized systems to record scientific data.

Lacy has attended seminars with respected figures in media and politics, including Supreme Court Justice Warren Berger, Supreme Court Trial Lawyer Mark Goodman and Media Personality Larry King. He has pursued further technical and aesthetic study at UPAA symposiums with nationally known commercial photographers.

He has had photographs from his art and documentary series exhibited in Texas, Arizona and Mexico. He has produced portfolios in diverse fields from black and white landscape photography to commercial studio portraiture.
